Nina Louise Philpot Jones

Nina Louise Philpot Jones, 85, walked through the gates of heaven on October 1st, 2013. Nina was born in Daviess County on July 19th, 1928 to the late Carl and Zetta Philpot. She was a homemaker who along with raising six children, enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, and cooking. Nina loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren whenever she could. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Karns Grove Baptist Church.
Including her parents, Nina was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Mark C. Jones and a brother Carl H. Philpot.
Survivors include sons, Stuart H. Jones (Karen Lea) of College Park, GA; Michael D. Jones (Patsy) of Owensboro; Mark W. Jones (Sharon) of London, KY, and Tracy T. Jones (Denese) of Owensboro. Daughters, Karon Jones Palmer (Jeff) of Owensboro and Sharon Jones Miller of Philpot; also 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer Association and Green River Area Down Syndrome Association.
Services will be at 12:00 noon Friday October 4th at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Brother Craig Bratcher officiating. Burial will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on Thursday here at the funeral home and after 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Friday.
