Nick Joseph Velotta

Nick J. Velotta, Jr., 73 of Owensboro, died Friday, February 4, 2005, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born May 13, 1931 to the late Nicholas J. and Mary Alice Stallings Velotta, Sr. in Daviess County. He was retired as a construction worker and was a member of sheetmetal local #20 in Evansville, IN. Nick was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church, loved being with his family, and enjoyed collecting and cracking walnuts as a pastime.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Kenny, Herbie, Irvin, Richard and Louis Velotta.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Velotta, two daughters, Sandra Whitehouse of Philpot, and Nickie Diane Howard of Utica; one son, Mark Allan Velotta of Bowling Green, and a foster-son, Gary Whitney of Central City; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Paul Velotta of Seattle, WA, Jerome Velotta of Chicago, IL, Phillip Velotta of Rockport, IN, Patrick Velotta of Los Angeles, CA; one sister, Betty Rose Cline of Seattle, WA; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 12:00 PM Monday, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church, with ennichement in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM Monday at Glenn Funeral Home.
