Nettie Ruth Parson

Nettie Ruth Parson, 77, of Owensboro passed away Friday, December 8, 2023, under the care of Hospice of W. Kentucky. The Daviess County native was born July 5, 1946, to the late William and Mary Lanham Parson. Ruth retired from Glenmore Distillery after being employed there for over 32 years. She enjoyed playing Bingo, cards, Texas Roadhouse, and visiting the casino. Ruth loved her rose garden and decorating her home, changing the color of her cabinets in a heartbeat. Her family and friends were her greatest joy.     

In addition to her parents, Ruth also was preceded in death by her sister, Anna Christy and her brother, James Parson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Sandra Mitchell and husband Bruce of Owensboro and Susan French and husband Marty of Whitesville; six grandchildren, Sam Mitchell, Ryan Mitchell (Eric Maxwell), Brandon Mitchell, Jessica Mitchell, Kaitlin Clark (Aaron), and Nichole Howard (Sam); twelve great grandchildren; brother, Bob Parson (Ann) of Bowling Green. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the compassionate staff at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital and Heartford House.    

The graveside service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday at the chapel in Rosehill Cemetery with burial to follow.  

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Heartford House, 2914 Old Hartford Rd. Owensboro, KY 42303.
