Nettie Mother Net Ashby

Nettie Ashby (Mamie, Mother Net), formerly of 2920 Yale Place, Owensboro, died Saturday, August 30, 2003 at the Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 104. The Daviess County native was a homemaker and member of the Grace Baptist Church of Bowling Green. Miss. Nettie, who loved life, enjoyed cooking, shopping, collecting dolls, and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Herbert T. Ashby on January 29, 1994 and a son, Ashford Tanner Stevens on July 19, 1994 .

She is survived by a daughter, Anna Yeiser of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Jerry Yeiser, Jan Sterett, and Kaye Henry all of Owensboro, Dina Smith of Philpot , and Judy Rowland of Whitesville; 11 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; three step-children, Fred Ashby of Bowling Green, Hilton Ashby of Russellville, and Jo Ann Kurvin of Sarasota, FL; nine step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, September 3, 2003 at the Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday, September 2, 2003 and after 9 A.M. on Wednesday.
