Nellie Lucille Strehl

Nellie Lucille Lucy Strehl, 70, of 10835 U. S. Highway 231, Pleasant Ridge, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2006, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Huntsville, KY the daughter of Carlos and Nellie Peay Drake. Mrs. Strehl was retired after 22 years with Pinkerton Tobacco Co. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and the Esther Sunday School class. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, raising orchids, gardening, and traveling. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Clark in 1993 and a brother-in-law, Bernard Deidrich in 2005.

Surviving is her husband of 46 years, Charles W. Strehl, two daughters and their husbands, Carla & Donnie Whitaker of Shepherdsville, and Lisa & Steve McFarland of Owensboro, six grandchildren, Janssen Payne, Stevie Kaye McFarland, Charlie McFarland, Darrell Whitaker, Derek Whitaker, and Tia Whitaker, two sisters, Carolyn Deidrich of Huntsville, Ky., and Betty & her husband, Lewis Oldham of Masonville, and a brother-in-law, Sherman Clark of Las Vegas, Nv. and several nieces & nephews.

Services will be at 2:30 P.M. Thursday, February 2, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with entombment following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 12:00 Noon Thursday at the funeral home.
