Nellie Delphinia Elizabeth Dunbar Knott, 84, of Owensboro, Kentucky died Monday, February 22, 2010 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was a member of Saints Joseph and Paul Catholic Church, had retired as a cook from Barney's Callas Grill where she made cakes and pies, and had volunteered for 13 years at the Daniel Pitino Shelter and Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. She also enjoyed quilting, family gatherings and holidays, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Knott was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Bernice (J.B.) Knott, infant daughter, Mary Catherine Knott, brothers, William Ivo Dunbar, Joseph Herbert Dunbar, James P. Dunbar, and Felix E. Dunbar III, and sisters, Nila Terpestra, Katherine Baumgart and Georgia Lenguadoro.
Survivors include her childrem, Joseph William (Paula) Knott of Owensboro, Larry Bernice Knott (Kathy McCarty) of Owensboro, Barbara E. (Stanley) Roberts of Knottsville, and Jeffrey Edward (Rhonda) Knott of Louisville; grandchildren, Sherry Roberts (Lynn Laslie), Francis Eric (Carrie) Knott, William "Bill" (Stacy) Roberts, William Camron (Nikki) Knott, Danny Joseph (Tabatha) Roberts, Logan Knott, Jordan Knott, Lily Knott, and Jenna Knott; great-grandchildren, Camille Roberts, Cody Roberts, Hunter Roberts, Madalyn Roberts, Keagan Knott, and Katelyn Knott; sister, Mary Ann Hurm of Indianapolis, IN and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Saints Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 12 Noon on Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Prayers will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Anthony Catholic Church Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church Building Fund, St. Augustine Catholic Church Cemetery, St. Anthony Catholic Church Cemetery or Hospice.
