Ruth LaFaver Harden, 89, of 2316 Cedar Street, died Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at her home. She was born August 28, 1914 in Green City, Missouri to the late Walter and Mary Ellen LaFaver. Mrs. Harden was an active member of Third Baptist Church where she was a member of the Vota Vita Sunday school class for many years. A member of the Bluegrass Homemaker and the Owensboro Womans Club, she had been the receptionist for the late Dr. J. Edmund Bickel. Her husband, Chambers Harden, died in 1985.
Her children, Dell Harden Headen of Lexington, Gay Wilson and her husband Bill of Owensboro, and Philip Harden and his wife Judy of Lexington, her grandchildren, Keith Headen of Vevay, IN, Kendra Franklin of Lexington, Kelly Sampson of Wilmore, KY, Bill Wilson III of Bluffton, SC, Wendy Wilson of Orlando, FL, Megan Kaelin of Bluffton, SC, Jenna Fee of Winston-Salem, NC, and Jay Harden of Lexington, and 9 great-grandchildren survive her.
Services are at 1 p.m. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home, where visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
