Nannie Mae Higdon

March 6, 1906 — February 20, 2002

Nannie Mae Higdon, 95, of Wellington Parc, Owensboro, died there Wednesday, February 20, 2002. She was born in Daviess County, Kentucky on March 6, 1906 the daughter of Charles and Jennie Coomes Mattingly.

Mrs. Higdon retired from Glenmore Distillery after 41 years of service and enjoyed sewing. She was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral and Epsilon Sigma Alpha, Chi Ro Chapter.

Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Betty Walker of Liverpool, NY; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2002 at St. Stephen Cathedral in Owensboro, officiated by Father John Vaughan. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2002 and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday. Prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m. Friday.
