Nancy Keown Stuart

Nancy Keown Stuart, 95, of Owensboro, KY passed peacefully to her heavenly home on Tuesday, April 16^th, 2024 at Cedarhurst Assisted Living Facility. She was born in Daviess County to the late George Keown and Pearl Bivins Keown Horrell.

She worked more than twenty-five years at the Daviess County Courthouse as a clerk in the auto licensing department and retired in 1989. Her true love though, was being a farmer’s wife and raising her three sons on the family farm. She was a long-time member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church where she taught children’s Sunday School classes in her early years and a senior adult ladies’ class later on.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Thomas Stuart in 2014; two sisters Jimmie Snyder and Michael Coons, and a half-brother Mark Estes.

She is survived by three sons, T. Clay Stuart (Harriet) of Danville, KY, George Stuart (Carolyn) of Owensboro, KY, and William Stuart (Freida) of Kingsport, TN; four grandsons, Mark Stuart (Laura) of Lexington, KY, Drew Stuart (Jean) of Queens, NY, Matt Stuart (Kristen) of Knoxville, TN, and Stephen Stuart (Megan) of Akron, OH; two granddaughters, Cheri Stuart Davis (Josh) of Owensboro, KY, and Allison Pauly, of Lexington, KY; numerous great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Alexander Stuart of California; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own.

The funeral service will be at 12:00 Noon, Monday, April 22 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of gifts and flowers, donations may be made to the Young at Heart ministry at Yellow Creek Baptist Church, 5741 KY-144, Owensboro, KY 42303.
