Nancy Mae Metcalf

Nancy Mae Metcalf, 80, of Owensboro, passed away February 23, 2025. She was born June 29, 1944, in Ohio County to the late Archie B. and Emily Finley Miller. Nancy embarked on her journey at Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, and devoted an impressive forty-five years to caring for her residents with unwavering passion. Family meant the world to her, and she cherished the moments spent together. In her leisure time, Nancy found joy in swimming, working through crossword puzzles, and going to the drive-in theater’s Dusk-til-Dawn movie nights. Although she had a quiet demeanor, she delighted in the occasional game of BINGO and was fond of listening to Elvis, which added a touch of rhythm to her days. 

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Metcalf; sister, Sarah Geary, infant sister, Elizabeth Jane Miller and brothers Roy Miller and Ray Miller. 

She is survived by her daughters, Deandra Barnes, Diana (Wayland) Davis, and Debra (David) Creamer; seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Irene Faye Brumley and Betty Roach; brothers, Jimmy Miller and Willard Miller, along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. 

The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Sunnydale Cemetery.
