Nancy Chapin Lewis

Nancy Chapin Lewis, 88, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday November 7, 2009 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born on April 14, 1921 in Cloverport, Ky. to the late James Edward and Mary Waggoner Chapin. She was of the Baptist faith and had worked at Famous-Barr in the alterations dept. She enjoyed sewing, reading, watching U. K. basketball, and dancing. She loved her family very much and everyone always commented about her beautiful penmanship. She was a graduate of Frederick Frazier High School in Cloverport and enjoyed going to their reunions. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Major William Chapin.

Surviving are her daughters, Deanna Wehrung and husband Lloyd of Owensboro and Arlene Rohweder and husband David of Denver, CO, a son, Daniel Lewis and wife Marsha of Oakley, CA, seven grandchildren, Amy James and husband Mike of Benld, IL, Heather Bennett and husband Ron of Panama City, FL, Emily Lee and husband Meng of Bowie, MD, Amber VandenBos and husband Daryl of Cedarville, OH, Daniel Rohweder and wife Myndi of Santa Maria, CA, Scott Lewis of Oakley, CA, and Christopher Lewis and wife Heather of Portland, OR, 15 great grandchildren, and a twin sister, Frances Robinson and husband Robert of Owensboro.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 9, in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday and after 8:30 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
