Nancy J. Payne Crowe, 80, of Owensboro passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Nancy was born September 13, 1936 in Owensboro to the late Herman J. Payne Sr. and Pauline C. Kauffeld Payne.
She was a member of Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. Nancy had several passions in her life including following UK basketball and NASCAR, also she and her husband enjoyed being "snowbirds" by traveling to Florida in the winter where they had met and kept several important friendships going over the years. Nancy also enjoyed time outside with her flowers and sitting and praying her Rosary. She was also known to keep her home very clean and neat with an endless supply of peanut M&M's for whoever visited her. Most of all she loved her grandkids and great-grandkids with a passion.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Norbert Crowe; three sisters, Joann, Aileen and Sister Beverly; also one brother, Leo Payne.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Cindy Thomas and her husband Paul of Philpot, Sandy Tucker and her husband Mike of Owensboro, and Donna Church and her husband Steve of Philpot; a son, Earl Crowe and his wife Charlotte of Philpot; 8 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 12 step great grandchildren; four brothers, Billy Payne, Herman Payne Jr., Carl Payne, and Robert Payne.
The service will be at 11AM Thursday, February 23 at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church with Father Carl McCarthy officiating. Burial will follow at Saint Anthony Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 to 7 with prayers at 6 and Thursday after 9AM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Western Kentucky and also Leukemia Fund for Laken Tucker.
