Nancy Anne Baggett

Nancy Anne Baggett, 87, of Owensboro went to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 29, 2025. The Daviess County native was born June 25, 1938, to the late Joseph H. Martin and Norena Brack Martin. She was a member of Third Baptist Church where she taught for years in the children’s department, served in missions, and was a member of the Esther Sunday School Class. She also led in the Operation Christmas Child Ministry. Nancy was a 1956 graduate of Owensboro High School , attended Kentucky Wesleyan College, George Peabody College for Teachers, and Western Kentucky University. She taught in the Owensboro Public School System as an elementary teacher until retirement. Nancy enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, and watching UK basketball. Her favorite joy was spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Nancy also was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Billy Dean Baggett in 1996; her brother, Joe Willard Martin and sister, Jane Kiger; son-in-law, Keith Headen.

Those left to cherish her memory include her four daughters, Deana Baggett (finance’ Shane) of Evansville, Jeannie Penrod of Owensboro, Sarah Headen of Vevay, Indiana, and Paula Pardue (Kenneth) of Scottsville; six grandchildren, Kendra Husk of Lewisport, Kyle Pardue (Allie) of Alvaton, Ginger Smathers (David) of Canton, GA, Jordan Holcomb (Jordan) of Owensboro, Eli Headen of Erlanger, and Luke Headen of Vevay, IN; six precious great grandchildren, Andrew, Jamie, Jacey, Harper, Will, Hayden, and Hudson. “Little Hayden”, who lived nearby, was the sunshine of her later life; nieces, Dana, Debra, Jodi; a special cousin, Sarah Ann Hines.

The funeral officiated by Rev. Ron Williams will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, July 3 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with same day visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
