Nan Elizabeth Thompson Reeks

Nan Elizabeth Thompson Reeks, 85, of 719 Carter Rd., Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2008, in the presence of her children at her home. She was born in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Charles Leo and Bertha Wimsatt Thompson. She was a well known waitress at Cornell's Restaurant for many years and was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral. She was a member of the V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary and enjoyed going dancing there and to the American Legion with friends. She also enjoyed watching game shows and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman B. Reeks in 1981 and a son, Randall T. Reeks in 1991.

Surviving are seven children, Wendell S. Reeks (Pauline) of Owensboro, Linda C. Cooper (Larry) of Leesburg, FL., Janet M. Schwartz (Mike) of Owensboro, Nancy A. Record (David) of Birmingham, AL., Shirley F. Henry of Ft. Myers, FL., Barbara Reeks Nesmith and Judy Reeks Patten, both of Owensboro, daughter-in-law Carole Reeks of Phoenix, AZ., 12 grandchildren, Briana Goodreau, Sarah Reeks, Jana Reeks, Jeffrey Cooper, James Cooper, Zachary Patten, Melanie Schwartz, Andrea Schwartz, Bethany Schwartz, Lydia Nesmith Hinton, Cheryl Record McClune, and Kristen Record, eight great grandchildren, and two sisters, Mary Ethel Crump and Dorothy Maxine Johnson, both of Owensboro.

Services will be 12:05 P.M. Tuesday, June 17, at St. Stephen Cathedral with entombment following in Rosehill Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Monday with prayers at 6:00 P.M. and after 9:00 A.M. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home.
