Myrtle F. Coomes

Myrtle F. Coomes, 91, of 3231 E. 8th. Street, Owensboro, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2004 at her home. She was born in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Silas E. & Eunice Cecil Taylor. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and was a homemaker. She loved to quilt and play cards. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marjorie Marie Coomes, a daughter-in-law, Elaine Coomes, a son-in-law, Lambert Cecil, two brothers, Earl Taylor and Billy Joe Taylor, three sisters, Louise Wooten, Ethelene Lanham, & Marjorie Tong, two grandsons, Billy Coomes and Michael Cecil, and a great grandson, Nicholas Porter.

Surviving is her husband of 71 years, James E. Coomes, four sons, Charles E. Coomes of Houston, Tx., Joseph Donald & his wife Joyce Coomes of Owensboro, James Randall & his wife Charlotte Coomes of Owensboro, and Richard Eugene & his wife Rebecca Coomes of Philpot, and a daughter, Rose Ann Cecil of Philpot, 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and a brother, Robert Taylor of Owensboro

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 3, at St. Pius X Catholic Church with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday & after 8:30 A.M. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family has requested that friends make a mass offering in her memory.
