Myrtle Oletta Conley

December 6, 1925 — December 22, 2017

Myrtle O. Conley, 92, of Masonville passed into the loving arms of Jesus on December 22 surrounded by her family. She was born December 6, 1925 in Sacramento to the late Oscar Phegley and Nellie Willoughby Phegley. She attended Hall Street Baptist Church in her younger years where she served faithfully in the nursery caring for the babies she loved so well, and also sang in the choir and worked with young girls in the Girls Auxiliary. She worked all her life and retired from the Hon Corporation (Murphy Miller). She previously worked for the Interstate Clothing Store, Glenmore Distilleries, and General Electric. She enjoyed gardening, especially her roses, and had a deep love for animals. She loved to watch the farmers working their fields and chickens and goats from her bedroom window. Myrtle loved to travel after the passing of her husband of 54 years, Joseph Richard Conley, in 2005. She was also was preceded in death by her beloved great grandson, Ethan Gillim in 2007. She never met a stranger in her travels and loved to ride "shotgun" with her older daughter or in a motorcycle sidecar rig at the age of 82.

She will be sorely missed by her three daughters: her older daughter and caregiver, Linda Conley-Watts of Masonville, Kay Hall and husband Richard of Whitesville, Ava Jo Conley of Philpot and her companion, Mike Goodman; grandchildren: Franklin L. Gillim II of Philpot, Jeana Clater, Carolyn Naegele (Robert), Amanda Vanover (Donald) of Pleasant Ridge, and Tabatha Hall of Whitesville; ten great grandchildren who she truly loved; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Services will be noon Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home Crematory with Brother "Papa John" Peebles officiating. Visitation will also be Thursday from 10 till noon. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Conley's family would like to thank all of the nurses, aides, doctors, and other staff of Owensboro Health Regional Hospital for the excellent care and love they provided to their mom. May God bless each of them. Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Owensboro Humane Society, 3101 W 2nd St, Owensboro, KY 42301.
