Myrtle Stewart Bruner

May 2, 1919 — May 15, 2003

Myrtle Stewart Bruner, 84, of Owensboro, died Thursday, May 15, 2003 at the Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Daviess County native was a member of the Hall Street Baptist Church and had retired from General Electric where she worked for 42 years. She enjoyed sewing and cooking. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Bruner in 1973 and a son, William Parker Bruner in 1988.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Shirley Bruner of Owensboro; a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Bruner of Evansville; seven grandchildren, Kevin Bruner, Darrell Lee Bruner, Jr., Lisa Tompkins, and Lori Triplett all of Owensboro and Jane Ann Garvin of Newburgh, IN, Kathy Partridge of Grandview, IN, and Bobby Bruner of Cynthiana, IN; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Stella Gray of Beaver Dam.

Funeral services are 11:30 A.M. Monday, May 19, 2003 at the Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1-6 P.M. on Sunday and after 9 A.M. on Monday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Hall Street Baptist Church.
