Myrle Lee Crowe Tanner DeWitt, 83, of Owensboro, died July 13, 2006 at Owensboro Medical Health System. The Hancock Co. native was born February 12, 1923 to the late Samuel and Armitte Boling Crowe. She attended worship services and was a member of The Salvation Army for 39 years. She was also a member of the Ladies Home League and Keenagers at The Salvation Army. She loved her family and church friends.
Preceding her in death besides her parents were her first husband; Isaac Gilbert Tanner in 1992, her son; Major Larry G. Tanner in 1995, her brother; Clayton Crowe in 2004, her sisters; Beulah Mae Fulkerson in 1931 and Eva Stinnett in 2005.
Survivors include her husband; Raleigh DeWitt, her son and daughter-in-law; Allen and (Betty) Tanner of Owensboro, her daughters and sons-in-law; Kay and (R.D). Bramschreiber of Owensboro, Martha and (R. Keith) Jones of Nashville, TN, Mary and (Vincent) Miller of Owensboro, her sister and brother-in-law; Arnora and (Johnnie) Cain of Philpot, her twin brother and sister-in-law; Myrvin D. and (Fanny) Crowe of Owensboro, her brother; J.C. Crowe of Hardinsburg, eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and friends at Fern Terrace.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Glenn Funeral Home with Captain Ben Lawrence officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2006 and from 1:00 until service time on Saturday.
