Myra Leah Cissy Hall Gibson, 89, formerly of Maceo, died Monday, December 20, 2004 at the Palms of Pasadena Hospice Center in Pasadena, FL. Born in Maceo on June 2, 1915, Mrs. Gibson worked in the lunch- room of Maceo Elementary School for many years and had also worked at General Electric. She was a member of First Baptist Church; was a Kentucky Colonel and loved to play bridge. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.H. Hoot Gibson in 1998 , a brother, Wallace Hall, and a sister, Mabel Morton..
She is survived by two sons, Richard Gibson, Jr. of St. Petersburg Beach, FL and Patrick (and his wife Marian) Gibson of Louisville; two granddaughters and their spouses, Christie and Kenny Rideout, Jr. of Owensboro and Courtney and Shane Finkelstein of New Orleans; three great-grandchildren, Kenny R, Rideout, III and Delaney Rideout and Drew Finkelstein; a sister-in-law, Clara Hall of Maceo; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 10 A.M. Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at Glenn Funeral Home with entombment in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4-8 P.M. on Monday and after 8:30 A.M. on Tuesday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
