Morris Locher, Sr., of Owensboro, died Sunday, April 1, 2007, at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born December 14, 1914 to the late Emil and Fammie Basham Locher in Daviess County. He was a member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church, and had worked has a maintaince supervisor at Modern Welding Company. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, horses, animals and pets of all kinds, and especially enjoyed his friends and family coming over and visiting with him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linnie B. Locher on January 7, 1994; two sisters, Virginia and Lena Locher; a brother, W.T. Locher.
Survivors include his sons, William E. Tootie Locher, and his wife, Chris, Morris Junie Locher, Jr. and his wife, Phyllis, all of Owensboro; seven grandchildren, Michael, Daniel and Jaimie Locher, Lori Richard, Jon and Dennis Locher and Shannon Kinison; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; five sisters, Ellen Kircher, Eva Hardesty, both of Owensboro, Lucille Scearce of North Carolina, Rose Gillim and her husband, Jack of Bowling Green, Betty James and her husband, Tom of Greenville, TX; three brothers, Roy Locher of Owensboro, Emil Locher Buddy of Sacramento, Sam Locher and his wife, Melba of Harrah, GA.
Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday and after 8:30 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
