Monnie Ree Small

December 21, 1914 — April 27, 2004

Monnie Ree Small, 89, of Whitesville, died Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at Hillcrest Healthcare. The Whitesville native was a lifelong member of Whitesville Baptist Church where she played the piano for the childrens nursery and taught Sunday School; a member of the Order of the Eastern Star at Whitesville; and a Kentucky Colonel. Mrs. Small retired from S.W. Anderson downtown after 26 years of employment. She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd (Pee Wee) Small in 1985; her parents, G.H. (Boone) and Laura A. Davis Hinton; a granddaughter, Tracie Trogdon Montgomery; and her sister, Emma Lee Cambron.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Rex and Charlie Small of Whitesville; her daughter, Sandra Lowe of Yelvington; one brother, Robert Davis Hinton and his wife Mabeth of Benton, Ky; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services are 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 30, 2004 at Whitesville Baptist Church with burial in Cates Cemetery. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home from 2-8 P.M. on Thursday, April 29 and from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. Friday, April 30 at the church.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Whitesville Baptist Church.
