Monnie Smith Mauzy

Monnie Smith Mauzy, 89, of Utica, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born December 28, 1927 in Daviess Co. to the late Marvin T. and Ora Fielden York. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of God of Prophecy. Monnie enjoyed fishing, listening to music, traveling, and dancing. She was an avid seamstress, quilter, and was a very strong-willed lady. Probably the most special thing she did during her life was being a foster grandparent. Monnie was also preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Conder in 1950, Louis Smith in 1987, and Albert Mauzy in 2014, her siblings, Raymond, Guy, and Homer York, and Mageline Head.

Surviving are her children, Sheila (Larry) Anderson of Philpot, Patty (Rodney) Schenk of Robards, Steve (Pam) Smith, and Mike (Melanie) Smith, all of Owensboro, 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 14 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
