Mollie Grimsley Stephen,78, a beautiful beacon of love and joy, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025, in Owensboro, KY, with her family at her side. She was born on August 12, 1946, to the late Helen and James W. (Buster) Grimsley. Mollie graduated from Daviess County High School and enjoyed a long and fulfilling career at the Daviess County Circuit Clerk's office, where she retired in 2008.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved sister, Norma Ward.
Mollie is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 34 years, James Randahl Stephen (Randpa); her siblings, Doris Robinson, Linda Gregory, Jimmy Grimsley, Tom Grimsley, Bob Grimsley, and Richard Grimsley.
Known affectionately as GranMollie, she cherished her family and leaves behind three children, Todd Kamuf (Connie), Cindy Kamuf McWilliams (Kim), and Allison Kamuf Lane (Chris); as well as her grandchildren, Corbett, Keegan, Warren, Morgan, Emerson, and McCall; and great-grandchildren, Braidyn, Cayman, Karsyn, Addisyn, and Hudson.
A devoted member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Mollie found great comfort in her faith. Those who knew her remember her for her passion for life. She had a hat for every occasion and was truly the life of the party. Making others laugh was one of her greatest gifts. Throughout her life, Mollie adored spending time with children of all ages, including her own grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Earlier in her career, she joyfully babysat in her home in Stanley, KY for several years.
She enjoyed volunteering at Owensboro Health, riding her 3- wheeled bike, taking weekly outings to Colby's restaurant, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers and the Louisville Cardinals. She especially enjoyed long Gator rides with her Buttercup and great nieces/nephews around Stephen Farms in Sorgho, KY. Mollie's vibrant spirit and infectious joy will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
