Sister Miriam Medley, 93, an Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph, died Nov. 26 at Mount Saint Joseph, in her 73rd year of religious life. A native of Loretto, Ky., she devoted 53 years of her life to education.
Sister Miriam loved to travel, loved angels and had a heart of gold to all those who knew her. She was the librarian at Brescia College (now University) from 1987-94. She taught at Cathedral School, Owensboro (1982-86) and served as principal of Mount Saint Joseph Academy, Maple Mount (1960-66). Sister Miriam was a principal and teacher at other schools in Kentucky and Missouri. She was also a pastoral minister in New Mexico and in Princeton, Ky. She retired to the Motherhouse in 1998.
Survivors include a sister, Kathleen Daugherty of Louisville, nieces and nephews, and the members of her religious community.
The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mount Saint Joseph, where visitation will begin Thursday at 4 p.m., with a wake service following at 6:30 p.m.
Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, Owensboro, is in charge of arrangements.
