Milton Wardrip, Jr., 81, of 2517 Arbor Terrace died Thursday, October 7, 2004 at his home after a prolonged battle with Alzheimers disease. Born in Sample, Kentucky on January 29, 1923 to the late Milton and Ersa Parsons Wardrip, he was retired from Field Packing Company after 26 years of service and was a member of the Ridgewood Baptist Church. He served in the United States Navy Honor Guard at Norfolk, Virginia and aboard the U.S.S. Hawkins during World War II.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Curtis Wardrip and two sisters, Jolly Hook and Lois Rogers.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Wilma Gough Wardrip; two sons and their spouses, Steve and Sue Meacham Wardrip of Hartford and Scott and Leslie Wardrip of Owensboro; four daughters and their spouses, Amy Lanham and Dawn and Dewayne Young of Owensboro, Dayle and Bruce Hammond of Albany, Oregon, and Gayle and Jim Daniel of Jefferson, Oregon; two sisters, Lula Bolen and Jo Condor, both of Lewisport; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral services are 2:30 P.M. Monday, October 11, 2004 at Ridgewood Baptist Church with burial in Lewisport Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. - 6 P.M. on Sunday, October 10 and after 9 A.M. on Monday at Glenn Funeral Home.
