Milton L. Greenwell, 85, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at his home. Mr. Greewell was born September 9, 1931 in Daviess County to the late Milton and Emma Conway Greenwell. Milton was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked as an Electronics Technician for General Electric and then MPD from which he retired. Mr. Greenwell was kind and had a sense of humor but also had a stubborn streak. Many knew him by his nickname, "Junie". He enjoyed fishing, taking daytrips, and UK basketball, but mostly his kids and grandkids.
Mr. Greenwell also was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Hattie Faye McClure Greenwell;
Those left to cherish his memory include his two sons, Barry Greenwell of Owensboro and Randy Greenwell and fiancée Joanna of Chesapeake, Virginia; daughter, Sonya Klessig and husband Helmuth of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Ashley Greenwell, Taylor Patterson (Tyler), Kealyn Greenwell, Claire Greenwell, and Ian Klessig; two great grandchildren, Peyton and Tanner Patterson; sister, Betty Otterson (Charlie) of Basket, Kentucky.
The service will be 10:00 AM on Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Justin Hunter officiating. Entombment will be in Christ Chapel at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM and Tuesday from 9:00 AM.
