Louise Fort Wilson, 89, of Bowling Green, formerly of Owensboro, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Hopkins Care Center in Woodburn. Mildred Louise Evans was born September 16, 1922 in Fordsville to the late Ezra and Gola Howard Evans. She was married to Hugh F. Fort until his death in June 1972. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Sue Bryant and Martha Carol Simon. Louise retired from Anderson's Department Store and was a member of Parrish Avenue Baptist Church. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed crafts, fishing, watching basketball and spending time with family. She is well remembered as a great cook and hospitable hostess.
Survivors include her daughter, Gail Fort Sensel and her husband Craig of Bowling Green; grandchildren, Cameron Sensel and Jill Sensel both of Bowling Green; sisters, Elizabeth Embry (Stan) of Owensboro and Norma Williams (Winfred) of Calhoun; brothers-in-law, Jack Fort (Lula Mae) of Miami, FL and Earl Fort (Bessie) of Owensboro; sisters-in-law, Mary Backus of Owensboro and Ruth Fort of Evans, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews..
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2011 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Franklin Skaggs officiating followed by burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
