Mildred "Millie" Oost Miller

Mildred “Millie” Oost Miller, 96, of Owensboro passed away Friday, January 17, 2025 at One Park Place. She was born July 23, 1928, in Daviess County, to the late Grover and Emma Stringer Oost.

 She was employed at Bell South telephone company for 33 years. After retirement she and her husband traveled throughout the United States and in many countries overseas. The highlights of their travels were with friends in the Netherlands who helped her husband retrace the route he took during WW II throughout Europe. She and her husband enjoyed the winter months in Ft. Myers, Fl. and were active in tennis, bocce and many types of table games. 

 Mrs. Miller was a member of First Baptist Church in Owensboro, where she was part of the Beacon Sunday School Class, and an associate member of McGregor Baptist Church in Ft. Myers, FL. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America for many years.

 She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Chester Davis Miller; a son, Roger Davis Miller; a granddaughter, Nina Faye Hayden; sisters, Ozell Cobb and Wilma Phillips; and a brother, Willard Oost.

 She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Bob Leucht; as well as nieces and nephews, John Phillips of Owensboro, Jonell Mitchell of Powder Springs, GA, and Kathy, Steve and Gary Oost of Parker, FL. 

 The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 23 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, with Dr Paul Strahan and Rev. Bob Farmer officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM and Thursday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
