Mildred Faye Hayden, 75, of Owensboro, passed away Friday, March 30 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Mrs. Hayden was born February 16, 1943 in Whitesville to the late William and Clara Howard. Mildred raised her five children and was the matriarch of her family while she helped her husband farm and raise tobacco. She was a devoted member of St. Pius Catholic Church and an obedient and faithful servant to her God and others. Mildred was a great grandmother and loved spending time with her 18 grandchildren.
Mrs. Hayden was also preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Hayden in 2008; granddaughter, Kate Hayden in 2006; grandson, Jake Hayden in 2014; and six brothers.
Those left to cherish her memory include her five children, Walter Hayden and wife Lisa of Louisville, Denise Hayden also of Louisville, Stephen Hayden and Michelle Hayden both of Owensboro, Theresa Everly and husband Jason of Centertown; sixteen grandchildren, Adam, Maria, and Meridyth Hayden, Wade Evans, Shelby and Jenna Hodges, Cody Hayden, Mason, Allana, Emma, Olivia, and Khloe Adams, Drew Hayden, Hannah, Isaac, and Lydia Everly; great grandson, Bentlee Adams; four brothers, Donald, Bud, Jerry, and Eddie Howard; three sisters, Betty Thompson, Mary Roberts, and Marilyn Lewis; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. till 8:00 p.m. Monday with prayers at 5:00 and 10:00 a.m. till 1:30 pm Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
