Mildred Hardesty Williams Harrington

April 11, 1934 — December 22, 2018

Mildred Hardesty Williams Harrington, 84, of Owensboro, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family who loved her dearly. She was born in Philpot to the late Joseph Herbert and Dillion Russelburg Hardesty.

Mildred was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was the family's voice of reason, listener and confidant. She was a devout Catholic and lifetime active member of Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church as well as an Oblate with the Passionist Nuns. Mildred loved to sing and used her beautiful voice in the church choir she helped start. Prayer and the rosary were very important to her, with a focus on forgiveness.

She loved holiday and family gatherings where she was known for her excellent pecan pie. She enjoyed flower gardening, keeping a beautiful home and "retail therapy".

Mildred was known for her selflessness, kindness, loving ways and guidance. She will be missed immensely by all that knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-five years, Robert Norman Harrington in 2017; her first husband of seventeen years, Charles Alexander Williams; siblings, Barbara Hagan Price, Lawrence, J.C., and Edward Hardesty; and son-in-law, Kenton Wesley Nonweiler.

Mrs. Harrington is survived by children, James Harrington, Bob Harrington (Linh), Rick Williams (Jody), Rhonda Williams, Phil Harrington (Sandy), Ben Harrington (Cynthia), Sharon Williams, Mike Harrington (Alicia), Susan Stallings (Mark), Jennifer Nonweiler and a chosen child, Holly Logsdon (Chad); 33 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lindesay Hardesty (Rita); a special sister-in-law, Agnes Jean Harrington; many nieces and nephews; and special, longtime friends, Marvin and Auda Wink.

The Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 29 at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church.
Fr. Brandon Williams, Mildred's grandson, will officiate. Burial will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 until 8:00 PM and after 8:30 AM Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
