Mildred Gertrude Eskridge

Mildred Gertrude Eskridge, 96, of Owensboro, formerly of Evansville, IN, died Tuesday, August 29, 2006, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center. She was born March 11, 1910 to the late Roy and Minnie Elam Harrington in Stewardson, IL. She was a homemaker and a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Evansville. She was a lifetime member of the DAR, Vanderburgh County Chapter, a member of the Junior League of Evansville, and loved attending garden clubs. She enjoyed gardening, being with her grandchildren and all her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Allen Eskridge, Sr. on February 10, 1973.

Survivors include her son, Joseph Allen Eskridge, Jr., and his wife, Nancy of Owensboro; two grandchildren, GiGi Hartlage and her husband, Bill of Louisville, Joseph Allen Eskridge, III and his wife, Randa Remer-Eskridge of Lexington; two great-grandchildren, Chase Hartlage and Joseph Allen Eskridge, IV.

Services will be 3:00 PM Saturday, at Glenn Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Harry Spurrier, with graveside services at 4:30 PM in Oak Hill Cemetery in Evansville. Pallbearers will be Benjamin Vessels, Steve Blanford, Joseph Allen Eskridge, III and Bill Hartlage. Visitation will be after 1:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
