Mildred L. Bowlds, 80, of 1911 Colonial Ct., Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 at her home. She was born on February 11, 1928 in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Lawrence A. and Anna Wathen Payne. She was a loving wife and mother, homemaker, and member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church. She enjoyed vegetable gardening and canning, raising flowers and watching them grow, playing card games, sitting on her porch in the evening, and watching her favorite soaps and C.S.I. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry B. Bowlds on March 23, 2000, and two daughters, Brenda Hardison and Sandra Bowlds.
Surviving are two daughters, Patty Miller and Sheila Pinkston, both of Owensboro, five sons, Dale Bowlds and wife Bonnie, Tony Bowlds and wife Vicky, Steve Bowlds and Randy Bowlds, all of Owensboro, and Larry Bowlds of Nashville, Tenn., 21 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren, three sisters, Mary Edith Fikes of Owensboro, Ruth Ann Lehman of San Antonio, Tx., and Barbara McKay of Stanley, and four brothers, Herman Payne of Whitesville, Paul Payne, Joe Payne, and Kenny Payne, all of Owensboro.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, Sept. 30, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Monday and after 8:30 A.M. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be 6:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
