Mildred Wedding Bittel

Mildred Wedding Bittel, 87, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Wellington Parc. Born July 18, 1920 in Whitesville, Mrs. Bittel was the daughter of the late Paul "Jack" and Marie Leibfried Wedding; was a homemaker; and was a founding member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic minister. She was also active with the HELP Office and was a Telephone Pioneers partner. Mrs. Bittel was preceded in death by her husband Cletus Bittel on July 26, 2000, and brothers, MSgt Paul Julian Wedding and SSgt Hugh Ralph Wedding.

Mrs. Bittel is survived by her children, James H. "Jimmy" (and Janice) Bittel of Owensboro, Dr. David E. (Loretta) Bittel of Roanoke, VA, Ruth Ann (and Lucio) Nunez and Angela Marie (and Butch) Knight of Owensboro, and Therese (and Alan) Morris of Midway, KY; grandchildren, Sarah Terrell of Terre Haute, IN, Ingrid Bittel of Mt Washington, Rachel Shively of Owensboro, Kathryn Morris of Dayton, OH, Elizabeth Bittel of Louisville, Stephen Shively of Owensboro, and Laura Morris of Midway, KY; a great-grandchild, Tyler J. Terrell of Owensboro; a sister, Joanita Cooksey of Merritt Island, FL; a brother, Wray (and Pauline) Wedding of Hampton, VA; and sisters-in-law, Mary Wedding of Hampton, VA and Mary A. Bittel of Owensboro.

Services are 11A.M. Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Blessed Mother Catholic Church followed by burial in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 P.M. on Monday and after 9 A.M. on Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home. The Rosary will be said at 6:30 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.
