Mildred Lowe Brewer Bishop

Mildred Bishop, 79, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, February 4, 2010 at the Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center. Born March 16, 1930 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Litsey Brewer; was a retired registered nurse, and enjoyed gardening and her family. Mrs. Bishop graduated from the Daviess County Hospital nursing program in 1952 and retired from nursing in 1980. She worked at both the Owensboro Daviess County Hospital and Hillcrest Nursing Home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Barry Gene Bishop in 1965.
Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Donald E. Bishop, Sr.; sons, Donald E. Bishop, Jr. and Stephen D. Bishop both of Owensboro; grandchildren, Jennifer (Christopher) Warfield of Owensboro and Jason Bishop serving in the Navy at Great Lakes, IL; and great-grandchildren, Kaelyn and Madilyn Warfield.
Services are private. Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory is handling arrangements for the Bishop family.
