Milby Harmon, Jr., 82, of Maceo, Kentucky died Saturday, August 7, 2010 in the La Porte Regional Hospital. Mr. Harmon was born on September 13, 1927 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Milby Harmon, Sr. and Mary Della Livers Harmon. He served in the United States Army, was a sheet metal worker and co-owner of Harmon Brother's Sheet Metal, was a member of the Ensor Masonic Lodge, and the Riverside Baptist Church. Mr. Harmon loved traveling, camping and being in the great outdoors. He also loved spending time with his family and was a wonderful father and husband. He was also preceded in death by his wife Doris Mae Shadwick Harmon, a brother, James Harmon and a sister, Dorothy Jean Harmon.
Survivors include his daughter, Janice Felty and her husband Harrell; granddaughter, Diane Pamela Frailley and her boyfriend, Tim Epple; great-granddaughter, Brianna Nicole Frailley; companion, Helen Weaver; sister, Mary Johnston; brothers, Joe Harmon and his wife Velma, Donald Harmon and his wife Betty, Mickey Harmon and his wife Marsha, and Bob Harmon; and a brother-in-law, Felix Craig.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday and after 9 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. A Masonic Service will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Heart Association or to the American Lung Association.
