Michael T. Henderson

Michael T. Henderson, 84, of Owensboro, died Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in St. Lawrence to the late Michael A. and Mary Etola (Woods) Henderson on October 4, 1924. He retired from Texas Gas Transmission where he was a payroll supervisor for 38 years. He was a WWII Navy veteran who served in the South Pacific. Mike attended Owensboro Business College and Brescia College. He was past president of TeDeum International and a volunteer for Owensboro Medical Health System, and Golden Partners as well as a member of OMHS Auxiliary. He was a member of Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years; Dorothy Henderson, his sons; Bill (Beth) Henderson, Tom (Debbie) Henderson, and Steve Henderson, daughters; Barbara Harrison and Becky (Wayne) McCarty; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Carl McCarthy officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 7 p.m. with prayers at 7 p.m., and after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church Building Fund, OMHS Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center or the Cancer Research Center.
