Michael Neil Goodman

Michael Neil Goodman, 74, of Owensboro, died peacefully Thursday, December 25, 2014 at his home. He was born to the late Alvin H. Goodman and Mildred Grace Emmick Foster, and raised in Downer's Grove, IL. After graduating high school there, he attended Iowa State University where he earned a degree in Agricultural Engineering. While there, he was an active member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity and he continued to support his beloved Alpha Iota chapter throughout the years.

He married the late Judith Ann Rollberg in 1964, moved to Owensboro, KY, and there raised his two daughters while working for Texas Gas Transmission, Inc. He was a devoted husband and father. Neil was also honored as a Kentucky Colonel. He was active with Junior Achievement, Planetary Society, Jaycees, Owensboro Stamp Club and the Evansville Coin Club.

He and Judy retired to Lewisport, KY in 1993 and became involved in that community. His activity included the Hancock County Historical Society and working the polls. They subsequently returned to Owensboro in 2009.

Neil was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Judith A. Goodman in 2010; his mother, Mildred Grace Emmick Foster in 2011; his father, Alvin H. Goodman in 1964; and his sister, Arleta L. Benest in 1989.

He is survived by two daughters, Ellen C. Hansen of Chesapeake, VA and Marcia L. Goodman of Owensboro, KY; and three granddaughters, Emily, Nicole and Kari Hansen of Chesapeake, VA.

A memorial service will be held 4 PM Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Friends may visit at the funeral home after Noon on Saturday,June 13.
