Michael G. Evans

Michael G. Evans, 40 of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord, November 9, 2010 at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville after a hard battle with leukemia. He worked at Franey's Food Mart on Frederica Street, and was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church. He was an avid Warhammer 40K player, loved working on cars, and spending time with his family. Michael was also a member of Ensor Masonic Lodge #729 where he held the office of Steward. He was also a member of the York Rite, Joe Davis Chapter # 32, Owensboro Council # 34, and Owensboro Commandry # 15.
He is survived by his wife, Patty Newcomb Evans, a daughter, Felicia Evans and fiance Mike of Hopkinsville, and sons, Isaac and Ricky Evans of Owensboro, and grandchildren, Ayden and Katie, his parents, George and Mary Evans of Evansville, IN., a brother, Robert Evans of Chandler, IN., and sisters, Ann Jackson of Washington, IN. and Diane Evans of Evansville, his father and mother-in-law, Larry and Pat Newcomb of Owensboro, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev, James Wedding and Rev. Jeremiah Burdon officiating. Entombment will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. and after 8:30 a.m. Saturday. There will be Masonic Rites Friday evening at 7 p.m. The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Michael Evans Family Fund in care of South Central Bank of Owensboro.
