Michael Pat Bumm

Michael "Pat" Bumm, 59, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at his home. Born in Daviess County on September 4, 1951, he was the son of the late Robert and Bettye King Bumm; had worked at the Indiana and Michigan Power Plant in Rockport; and was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church. A Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a member of the VFW Post 696 and AMVETS Post 75 and was formerly a member of the American Legion and Fraternal Order of the Eagles Post 2414. Mr. Bumm enjoyed playing pool and bowling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Bumm in 1987.

Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Sharon Sims Bumm; daughters, Michelle Bumm Kassinger and her husband Jeff of Louisville and Karen Bumm and her fiance' Tim Roach of Owensboro; grandchildren, Tyler and Justin Kassinger; a brother, Robert Bumm, Jr. and his wife Anne of Fulda, IN; a sister, Marie Stout of Clemmons, NC; and a niece and two nephews.

A memorial mass will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Precious Blood Catholic Church with Father Bruce McCarty officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery where military honors will be rendered by VFW Post 696. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with prayers at 6 p.m.
