Melvin Lee Goatee

Melvin Lee Goatee, 64, of 2309 Tippecanoe Street, Terre Haute, IN died Monday, November 12, 2001 at his home. He was born May 2, 1937 in Daviess Co., KY the daughter of Frank and Lula Mae Pinkston Goatee.

Mr. Goatee retired from S & G Excavating Company after 20 years. He was a member of Hall Street Baptist Church. He loved competing in Demolition Derbys and loved working on old Ford trucks.

Survivors include his wife, Reba Williams Goatee, one son, Kelvin Goatee of Owensboro; five daughters, Loretta Pickens, Trina Lynn Weger, Connie Sue Fields, Teresa Bennett, Lavana Bailey, all of Terre Haute, IN; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Margie ONeill Poiles, Louise Powers and Linda Hill, all of Owensboro and Joann Bell of Evansville, IN; three brothers, Arthur Goatee of Spottsville, KY, Charles W. Robinson of Sebree, KY, and Larry J. Goatee of Owensboro.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2001 at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend Joe Kitchens. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. His family will receive friends at Glenn Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2001 and after 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
