Melvin H. Boling, 77, of Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Owensboro Medical Heath System. He was born on July 20, 1932 in Hancock Co., Ky. to the late Arnold J. and Rhoda Bell Boling. He was retired in 1995 after 27 years with Willamette Industries as a heavy equipment operator and was a U. S. Army veteran where he had spent 18 months in Germany in 1952-53. He was a member of Hall St. Baptist Church which he loved very much. He enjoyed baseball, U. K. basketball, watching his grandsons play ball, walking his dog Buster, trying to play his fiddle, and going to flea markets and listening to country music. He always kept a daily journal. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Delmar J. Boling, Charles Walter "Wally" Boling, and Hershel Boling.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Linda Sue Boling, a son, Greg Boling and wife Jan of St. Louis, MO, a daughter, Suzanne Miller and husband Jim of Hardinsburg, Ky., two grandsons, Jacob and Max Boling of St. Louis, a granddaughter, Bethany Hinton and husband Billy of Hardinsburg, two great grandchildren, Ashley and Toby Hinton of Hardinsburg, a sister, Maxine Edge of Fordsville, a sister-in-law, Charlotte Boling of Boling Chapel, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 12 at Hall Street Baptist Church with burial following in Pellville Cemetery in Hancock Co. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Friday and after 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
