Rev. Mearl D. Wadley, 92, of Owensboro, KY died Saturday, December 18, 2010 and received his reward in full. Rev. Wadley died peacefully in his home surrounded by his family and woke up in the glorious resurrection with God the Father. His whole adult life was spent preaching and proclaiming the Word of God. He was passionate about presenting the Gospel and seeing people come to a saving faith in Christ. His pastoral ministry extends across the United States beginning in Martin, Kentucky and Pike County, Kentucky. From there he served as Director of Missions for the Ohio County Baptist Association. Rev. Wadley also served as a missionary in Williston, North Dakota and as Pastor in Watford City, North Dakota. His longest pastorate was in Gillette, Wyoming where he served at Westside Baptist Church from 1966 to 1986. He then pastored in Tyrone, Oklahoma and Amarillo, Texas before retiring from full-time ministry in 1992.

He was born March 10, 1918 to the late Ephraim and Annie Smith Wadley in Texas County, OK. Words cannot describe such a full life, which includes his marriage of over 70 years to Annette King Wadley. They were blessed with four children. Bruce (Diane) Wadley of Bluffton, SC, Yvonne (David) Slaughter of Owensboro, Phyllis (Wayne) Buck of Belton, MO, and Mary (Paul) Konrad of Gillette, WY; ten grandchildren, Tina Slaughter Pugel, Mark Slaughter, Teresa Wadley Wilson, Christopher Wadley, Kevin Wadley, Jeremy Buck, Chad Buck, Melissa Buck Jeffries, Jason Ostlund and Jordan Ostlund; fifteen great-grandchildren.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, and a member of the Maverick Sunday school class. He and his wife enjoyed traveling (always on the the backroads), playing dominoes, eating at Moonlite and looking at new cars. He is held dear by his family and friends who are blessed by his legacy and his faithful commitment to pray for us all each day.
