McKinley Boling, 84, of 7525 Kentucky Highway 2830, passed away February 6, 2005 at his home after a long battle with Alzheimers. He was of the Methodist faith, had been a mechanic with Sturgeon Pontiac, was a World War II Veteran and loved to garden, fish and refinish antique furniture.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Verla Childers Boling; a daughter, Rachel Sue and Kenny McKiney of Elizabethtown; three step-daughters, Gwen and Lynn Kennedy of Calhoun, Brenda and William Glenn of Owensboro, and Karen and Gary Long of Lewisport; four sisters, Elizabeth Banks of Hawesville, Marie Phillips and Clara Phillips both of Tell City, IN, and Gertrude Coverts of Georgia; two brothers, J.N. Boling of Hawesville and Darrell Boling of Tell City, IN; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Glenn Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
