Mayme Joyce Straney Hayes

Mayme Joyce Straney Hayes, 68, of Niceville, Fl. died Saturday, January 3, 2004 at the Ft. Walton Beach Medical Center. A native of Daviess County, she was a graduate of Utica High School in 1953. She attended the North Bay Baptist Church in Niceville; was a homemaker and had previously worked as an LPN at Owensboro Daviess County Hospital and Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, TX. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert William Iles in 1968.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Monroe Hayes; three sons, Gary Iles of Crestview, FL, T. David Iles of Cincinnati, OH and Michael D. Iles of Albuquerque; a step-daughter, Karen Chevalier of Sterling, IL; five grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Gossett of Owensboro, Mary Bibb and Margaret Brooks of San Antonio, TX.

Funeral services are 10 A.M. Saturday, Janaury 10, 2004 at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4-7 P.M. on Friday and after 8:30 A.M. on Saturday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society or Hospice.
