Maurine Embry Gartin

Mrs. Maurine Embry Gartin, 79, of 1205 Leitchfield Road, Owensboro, died Wednesday, January 21, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born December 12, 1924, to the late William G. and Annie Overton Embry in Ohio County. She was a retired registered nurse and had worked at Ohio County Hospital and Owensboro Daviess County Hospital. She attended Good Shepherd Church.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Bradford Brady Embry, Winford, Winnie Embry and William Embry, Jr., and one sister, Lillis Phelps.

Survivors include two daughters, Laura Taylor of Owensboro, and Anna Baird-Hensley of Augusta, GA, four grandchildren, Benjamin Travis Baird and Ryan A. Taylor, both of Lexington, Christopher T. Baird of Bowling Green, and Courtney B. Taylor of Owensbro, one great-grandchild, Destiny Rain Hatchett, one sister, Loris Kessinger of Louisville, and one brother, Wilford Embry of Leitchfield.

Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, at Glenn Funeral Home, with burial in Rosine Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 until 8:00 PM, Friday, and after 8:30 AM on Saturday, at the funeral home.
