Matthew Kane Newcomb

Matthew Kane Newcomb, 21, of Owensboro went home to be with the Lord Friday, April 17, 2009. Born December 2, 1987 in Owensboro, he was a 2006 graduate of Daviess County High School; was attending Owensboro Community and Technical College and working at the Wills Animal Hospital; and was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church. Matt loved spending time with his cousins; playing video games; and was a kind, loving person. He especially loved animals.

Matt is survived by his loving parents, Scott and Kim Kasinger Newcomb; his twin brother, Zachary Ryan Newcomb of Louisville; grandparents, Jerry and Wanda Newcomb and Goldie and Charlie Payne of Owensboro; aunts, Robin (Jim) Fowler, Mia (Dean) Snyder, Cindy Leonard, and Audra (Nate) Ricke all of Owensboro and Nikki (Chris) Gilmore of Anchorage, AK; uncles, Josh (Heather) Payne, Luke (Roseanna) Payne of Owensboro and Brett (Tammy) Newcomb of Philpot; and 19 cousins and countless friends.

Services are 12 noon Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Glenn Funeral Home with Dr. James Wedding and Rev. Tom Crusenberry officiating followed by burial in South Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Monday and after 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
