MARYLOU JEAN (KETNER) EDWARDS

Marylou Jean (Ketner) Edwards passed away at age 92 on Monday, November 6, 2017 in Owensboro Kentucky. Born in Evansville, Indiana on April 3, 1925, Marylou was raised by her mother Lillian and stepfather Thomas B. Jarboe. and graduated from Memorial High School in Evansville. As a student at University of Evansville she met the love of her life and in December 1947 she began 63 years of marriage to Whitson Conway (W.C.) Edwards until his death on April 4, 2011. Marylou raised her two boys and worked as a secretary in the banking and health industries. She was very active in the community and her church. She and Whit were longtime dedicated members of the Optimists International and members of the First Presbyterian Church of Owensboro. Marylou volunteered endless hours to support their good works. She served as a church deacon, lead preparations for the Upper Room presentation and was active in the Ladies circles at church.

She was a loving mother to her sons Whitson Thomas (Tom) of West Orange, New Jersey, William Gray (Bill, who preceded her in death), daughter-in-law Wendy, and a devoted and loving grandmother to Eric & Diana Edwards, Nikki and Don Vandenbord, Sara Edwards, Whitney &Tim Randall and especially proud great-grandmother to Ryan and Bryce (Vandenbord) and Lucas and Elliot (Randall). She will be remembered for her style, her kindness, her paintings and her devotion to family and friends.

Graveside services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, November 13, in the Chapel of Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory on Sunday, November 12, from 1:00-5:00 P.M and Monday, November 13, from 9-10 a.m.
