Mary Jane Young

Mary Jane Young, 78, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 21, 2015 as her family surrounded her with love. Mary Jane was born on March 23, 1937 in Daviess County as one of twelve children of the late Lucian Arthur and Lucien Maxcentia Payne. She worked at Medley Distilling until its closing and then retired from Glenmore Distillery. Mary Jane was an exceptional home keeper who took great pride in her kids, grandkids, and working in her yard. She loved going RVing with her husband.
Mrs. Young was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 53 years, Charles Young Jr.; brothers, W.A. Payne, Eddie Payne, Joe Payne, Roland Payne, Robbie Payne, and Jerry Payne; sisters, Rosina Clark, Geneva Pate, Willa Mae Roberts; and daughter in law, Amy Young.
She is survived by her sons, Ken Young and his wife Jill of Owensboro, Dale Young and his wife Tricia of Emmett Idaho, and Greg Young of Owensboro; sisters, Alice (Louis) Weise and Gretta VanBussum; grandchildren, Adam, Haley, Brian, Ben, Max, and Will; great grandchildren, Hunter and Harper; numerous nieces and nephews; awesome neighbors, Joe and Jean Blandford and Judy and Stephen Lee.
The mass conducted by Fr. Suneesh Mathews will be at 12:00 Monday at St. Stephens Cathedral with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until after prayers at 6:00 p.m. and after 10:00 a.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
