Mary Boulware Wilson

Mary Boulware Wilson, 78, of 2501 Old Hartford Rd (Carmel Home), Owensboro, died Saturday, April 21, 2001 at the Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was a graduate of Daviess County High School and later received a degree in Dietetics from the University of Kentucky, and internship at Duke University where she became a Registered Dietician and earned a Master's Degree in Food Service from the Univerity of Kentucky. She enjoyed a long and productive career in dietetics at the Daviess County Hospital in Owensboro, the Cincinnati General Hospital, Rockford College in Illinois, Oak Ridge Hospital in Tennessee, and St Mary's Hospital in Akron, OH. At the time of her retirement she was assistant director of Clinical Dietetics in the Department of Dietetics and Nutrition at the Albert Chandler Medical Center, University of Kentucky.

She was an active member of the Bluegrass Dietetic Association, the Zonta Club in Lexington and the Altrusa Club in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. While in Oak Ridge, she was instrumental in founding the Oak Ridge Credit Union. She was also a member of the Bluegrass Home Economists, the American Association of University Women, and the University of Kentucky Home Economic Alums.

She was the daughter of the later Grover and Mary Clarence Wilson of Owensboro. She is survived by two sisters, Mitzi Chinn of Hartford and Jessie Ringo of Lexington; two nieces, Cecilia (CeCe)Chinn Thomas of Hartford and Mary Cheaney Seth of Sierra Vista, AZ.; and three nephews, James M. Ringo of Lexington, John W, Ringo of Marietta, Ga., and Jeff W. Chinn of Wilsonville, Al. She has six great nieces and nephews including, Lelia Thomas of Hartford, Jeb Ringo of Lexington, Zack Haberer of Ann Arbor, MI., Dr. Jessica Haberer of San Fransisco, and Polly and Will Ringo of Marietta, GA.

A memorial service will be held Friday, April 27, 2001 at 2 P.M. at Glenn Funeral Home with burial at Rosehill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 Noon to 2 P.M.
