Mary Evelyn Wilkerson

Mary Evelyn Howard Wilkerson, 90, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, September 6, 2008 at her home. Born in Daviess County on March 2, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Lawson and Monica Ann Howard; a devoted member of Sts Joseph and Paul Catholic Church; and enjoyed gardening, cooking, and caring for her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paulonis Wilkerson in 1953; sons, Charles Glenn Wilkerson in 1993 and George Delbert Wilkerson in 1998; and grandchildren, Ronald Payne, Kenny Bennett and Faye Wilkinson.

She is survived by sons; Paul Wilkerson, William Wilkerson, and Joseph Wilkerson all of Owensboro; daughters, Joann Payne of Philpot, Joyce Aull of Owensboro, and Mary Bennett and Shirley Bullock of Louisville; 25 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anita Howard of Knottsville.

Services are 10 A.M. Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Sts Joseph and Paul Catholic Church with Father Carl McCarthy officiating followed by burial in St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery in Whitesville. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home where prayers will be said at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening.
